Tyler gets it right on about jerk guys and the women who try to help them; then wind up getting burned. It's so real life. This movie included sadness, love, thrills and laughs. Keep on telling stories Mr. Perry because you are doing a fantastic job!

I am sorry but I have to say this. Always add 2 points to the ratings of a black movie. Maybe its bigotry, maybe some folk are just too used to all white casts. Maybe they just dont get it.But for every black film rated 6/10It is usually deserves an 8/10 when i watch it. This film is no diffferent. The ratings say 5.1/10 This film is an easy 7.5/10 nothing less.I personally give it an 8/10 Of course it is well written and well directed.
Its a Tyler Perry film. The female lead always delivers and the support is excellent. There are no corny cliches and it kept me guessing right to the end.Infact the only thing wrong with this movie is the bigoted ratings which is starting to get a bit familiar. Just remember to add approximatley 2 points to the rating of a black movie or you might miss out on a little gem.
This movie is about love and sacrifice and how outside influence can deter someone from sticking by the person they love. It's about determination and drive - chasing your dreams, no matter what. The power of intimacy and the lack thereof. It's also about how love can rule the mind and takeover all emotions - probably the foundation of which the entire plot if based.
Of course, as usual, Taraji P. Henson was a stellar actress in this movie. It's a great addition to Tyler Perry's continually diverse crafting of stories and film-making. A faithful wife, tired of standing by her devious husband, is enraged when it becomes clear she has been betrayed. Acrimony was one heck of a disappointment but on the same time one heck of a boring Thriller about a woman who goes insane and tries to take revenge on her husband. To be honest i get it that this film was gonna suck since Perry is known on starring from one bad film to another or even directing some films as well but how in the hell did someone like Taraji P. Henson signed to star in this flop?
It's beyond my mind and i would advice to go and see something else with better direction and a better overall plot. The movie has very original story line, and the ending is nothing what you'd expect from the beginning. The acting is good. The scrip is good.

There is an actual plot, which seems to be hard to find in books, movies, and tv shows lately now that everything is just action and CGI. Only 2 things were wrong with this movie:1) It was too long for the story. They could've cut it down by 15-20 minutes2) The movie starts as a recollection told by Melinda(Taraji), and the whole first half is narrated while it's happening.
I kind of felt that I was watching a play as a opposed to a movie for a while. I would've liked it better had the whole thing just been chronological. The last 45 minutes of the movie were gold. I don't understand why this movie has such low reviews.

After reading the synopsis I was not feeling to see another 'Scorned woman due to abusive husband' movie. As the movie opens that's the feel you get, but as the movie goes on, your thoughts of how the movie will continue will actually divide; as my ideas and my wife's did. Tyler really did a Fantastic job with this movie. Makes one think, Is it HER fault, is it HIS fault, is it the FAMILIES fault. After the movie it will lead many to converse about it afterwards.
