Q: When is it ok to start accepting windows updates. I turned off the automatic updates but don't want to install the updates and have my computer crash again. I find it outrageous that Microsoft downloads a file to my computer that makes THEIR software crash and there is no response from the company. I have to go through this stuff I really don't understand to try to make it work. Now when I do fix it, the company keeps asking me to download MORE updates, without telling me that everything is ok now. Sorry just venting. The purpose of installing the updates either one or two at a time is because some of the updates need system restart for the changes to take effect.
